Sabina Shaikh

sabina-shaikhDr. Sabina Shaikh is an Economics lecturer at the University of Chicago in Public Policy and the Program on Global Environment (http://pge.uchicago.edu/).  She is also a Senior Research Economist with RCF Economic Consulting (http://www.rcfecon.com/).  Her research includes the economics of climate change policy, measurement of benefits and costs from changes in environmental quality and the use of market-based instruments for pollution control and ecosystem improvements.

Dr. Shaikh has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Davis. She has published papers on topics related to endangered species, fisheries, land use and climate change, and the role of agriculture in the Kyoto Protocol.  She is currently collaborating on projects related to local food production and healthy diets (http://feedingthecity.uchicago.edu/), green infrastructure and ecosystem health and the economic impacts from renewable energy and energy efficiency improvements.
