About

The ClimateCommunity.com was created to inspire individuals of all ages across the planet to communicate and share their concerns about our most vital resource “Planet Earth”.

The ClimateCommunity is operated and funded by Dan and Allisyn Cashdan.  Click here to submit an entry or comment.

By day Dan is a real estate investment banker who raises private equity for public and private real estate firms across the country.  (By night…Dan is focused on family…two in College, one at home and a beautiful wife - and “green stuff”)

Dan has been involved with “Green”  “Eco” projects for almost 15years.  From being the Founder/CEO of RealEnergy a distributed generation - clean energy firm - to serving as a member of the US Green Building Council Board of Directors - to various speaking and writing efforts on the topic of Green Buildings and the Commercial Real Estate communities role in the climate effort.

Dan is also one of the 2,000 or so people chosen by Vice President Al Gore to be trained to “present” the slides that are a part of the movie “An Inconvenient Truth”.

We - my wife and I truly believe “…children are the answer…” and with that in mind are please to have this platform.

VISION / MISSION / VALUES

For The Climate Community to become meaningful to a wide range of individuals – friends, family, partners, backers, teachers, students, parents, religious leaders, politicians and the community at large, we must articulate at the outset the founders goals and aspirations.

So, we record our initial vision of this project.  We also provide guidelines in the form of a mission statement and conclude with a discussion of our values.  In the future, the founders and all members of The Climate Community will have other occasions on which to reflect on our progress and how that relates to our original Vision, Mission, and Values.

VISION

I have a vision.  It is quite personal.  In fact it can be said that I was not able to put my vision into words until earlier this year.  That vision is to live long enough to see global consumption of coal, oil, and gas reduced to less than 20 percent of 2006 levels.  And, to play as large a role in that effort as God, my family, and my abilities allow.

MISSION

The mission of The Climate Community is to create a unique and exciting e-business that both educates and rewards students for positive behavior regarding the planet.  Using the power of social networking via the Internet, supported by good old-fashioned capitalism, The Climate Community will strive to raise awareness of the climate crisis in young people.  This will be done in a way that empowers responsive youth to take action on a daily basis.  This service can thereby help to create a new generation of leaders, innovators, and citizens committed to solving the climate crisis within their lifetime.

VALUES

Our values are for life.  Our values are for Nature.  Our values include a vision of God as creator and not babysitter.  We will seek out individuals with similar values.
