Hot hot hot…..

After a couple of weeks rest, we wanted to make a quick comment about this summer – it is HOT Hot hot…..

Another year of record breaking heat.  We wonder do these temps cause our leaders to think more about the negative impact of Climate Change, or just, move inside and turn up the AC?

BTW – here is a funny, not so funny thought.  In the winter we throw logs on the fire to get warm….well – in the summer believe it or not we throw coal on the fire to get cool!  Yes we are pretty clever creatures.   But, in the end we may not be clever enough to solve our global climate challenge if we ignore it forever, and keep fueling the fire to avoid the hear.

I think that what is important to remember and what a lot of people miss or misunderstand is when we thinks it has to do with “global warming” or heat. Thus when it is really hot in the summer or abnormally warm in the winter, that is when people think about climate change.

In the winter when it’s nice out people say “Thank you global warming”. But when LA gets a foot of snow, no one puts two and two together and says “no thank you global warming”

I know people are trying to shift the term from global warming to climate change, but I think the majority of people still think global warming and it’s about temperature. It is of course cuz that is what causes all the other issues, but few put those to together. That increased heat means more moisture in the air which means more rain and floods etc.

Along the same lines as your joke, when we use electricity to heat as well… We burn coal to boil water to make steam to make electricity so that we can put our pot on the stove and boil water for our tea.
