Congratulations to this weeks Climate Community Citizen of the Week – Atlantic Rising.
We have been following the amazing adventure of “Atlantic Rising” for the past several months. This trio of youngsters set out from the UK to tour the coastal regions of the Atlantic with the intention of raising awareness of the impact of rising sea levels. The three travelers are Tim Bromfield, Will Lorimer, and Lynn Morris, each of whom has an interesting personal story that they are bringing to this amazing adventure.
The following is from their web site – “Atlantic Rising is a charity on a 32,000km journey circumnavigating the Atlantic overland along the 1m contour line. This is the level scientists predict sea levels may reach in the next 100 years. Along the way we are creating an educational network between 15,000 students in low-lying coastal communities. Through our photography, films and writing, we are also documenting what will be lost if these predictions come true.”

Backed by the Royal Geographical Society, the team each gave up their day jobs in 2009 and began to plan for the adventure. We encourage you to check out the web site and think about supporting their efforts.
Congratulations again and keep up the great work!
