Climate Change – on the run? (Is this for real?)

The science regarding climate change and the impact that CO2 can have on our atmosphere when out of balance has been clear for almost 50 years.

Yet, amazingly this evening as I searched Google under “Climate News” three articles appear which in effect seriously question the science, our need to act, and the steps we are or may take to deal with the issues.

1 Texas: Dangers of Climate Change are Questioned

2 3 Companies Quit Group Over Moves on Climate

3 Global Weirding is Here

How can it be that the facts are being questioned, the solutions are being stalled, and in fact there is a real movement at hand to push back the clock and eliminate some of the progress that has been made in regulation.

My guess is that the coal and oil companies  – just like our foreign enemies – feel that we have a substantially weakened President in office who is failing to deliver on not only the kind of national climate bill that he had promised to deliver – but stands some risk of seeing decisions made strictly within the executive branch – be challenged by feisty members of  congress owned by  big oil and coal.

This was inconceivable 12 months ago.  What ever has happened – occurred quickly and almost silently.  If the administration is to regain the upper hand on this topic the President will have to focus, focus, focus – and reach across the aisle seeking friends/Americans with a common love for our planet.

We better move fast….
