Congratulations to this weeks winner(s) Boris Alexandrov, Elaine Horibe Song, and Sherry Jackman.
Boris, Elaine and Sherry are students at UCLA studying in the Anderson School of Management under one of our close friends Dr. John de Figueiredo.
These students and over 180 others have been studying the economics of climate change and specifically the impact of various economic efforts such as carbon tax and cap and trade. The students all read a post on our site “Who is going to pay” by Dr. de Figueiredo. They then wrote comments – to the post which can be seen and reviewed.

We then picked the three that we thought were particularly well thought out and made them our winners for the week.
Economic education regarding climate change is critical – and we applaud all the students for participating – the answers were excellent across the board.
In addition given the activities in Copenhagen that start in days we believe that it is appropriate to have this weeks winners be students – with a focus on the economic arguments of this issue.
Congratulations to Boris, Elaine, and Sherry – keep up the great work. And thanks to all for your super comments!
