This Friday through Sunday, Global Exchange and Green America will host San Francisco’s eighth annual Green Festival. The event will take place at the San Francisco Concourse Exhibition Center and is expected to attract more than 40,000 people. The three-day event will host an impressive list of speakers such as Amy Goodman of Democracy Now! and Marion Nestle, an author who will speak about our global food system. In addition there will be an estimated 125 authors, leaders and educators, sustainability workshops, a hemp fashion show and a green marketplace with 350 eco-friendly businesses that have been screened using Green America’s green business standards.
The San Francisco Green Festival is the nation’s longest-running green living event and the largest sustainability event in the world.
And this year the green events don’t end when the sun goes down. Green Bash, the official after parties for the Green Festival, will be happening after dark (and almost until sunrise) all weekend long. Friday will kick things off with musicians such as Delhi 2 Dublin and Non Stop Bhangra, Saturday is highlighting Hamsa Lila and Sunday’s party is featuring Dead Prez.
