We are now less then a month away from the UN’s Global Climate meeting in Copenhagen which will be held from December 7th – 18th.
One big question still to be answered is – will US President Obama attend? The President has made it clear that climate change is of great importance to him, his administration and our nation. And, although it is now clear that the US will not have put in place any sort of federal legislation prior to the meeting – what a wonderful signal would be sent to the world if President Obama were to attend!

Teachers – those of you working on climate change education with your students should take this as a learning moment and write to the President or the White House and encourage him to attend. The voice of young people across the nation can be very powerful.
Expectations for the Copenhagen meeting are already being dampened….but the reality is the opportunity for great progress remains in place.
Reach out to the President ask him to go to Copenhagen and represent our nation. Ask him to continue to change the world view of the US regarding climate change and help the world move to an agreement that in the long run meets the worlds/planets objectives.
