Congratulations to ClimateStories – this weeks Climate Community Citizen of the Week.
Climate Stories is actually a husband and wife team - Emma-Louise and Will Hardman. Emma and Will our our third winners from Europe. They are from the UK – but are currently on an amazing adventure across Russia and into Asia to discuss Climate Change at the truly grass roots level – with the people in these countries, cities, and towns. They can be followed on Twitter and on their blog ClimateStories. The following clips were taken by Emma and Will in Russia.
The following in their own words describes their efforts:
Climate change is the most serious threat facing the world today. So
much of our hope for mitigating the worst impacts relies on people
understanding the scientific facts. But people don’t respond to facts,
they respond to stories. Climate Stories will weave an international
multimedia tale, finding out what climate change means to real people.
It will use the power of storytelling to share information on climate
change around the world. Climate Stories is husband and wife team
Emma-Louise & Will Hardman.

Emma, 29, used to work as a policy research analyst on UK climate
change policy on London but has spent the summer in Wales working on
the Do Lectures and associated projects. She has been a committed
environmentalist for some years and would describe herself as a sort of
vivid grass green. Emma will be concentrating on researching people and
projects to visit, maintaining the Climate Stories website,
interviewing people and writing blog posts.
Will, 28, is taking a sabbatical from his job as a management
consultant in order to keep Climate Stories in beautiful pictures and
video. He has just written the sustainability strategy for his company
and has worked on greening the supply chain for the pharmaceuticals
industry. He is also bravely doing battle with visas and ticketing.
As we at The Climate Community meet people each week – like Emma and Will – we see an amazing concern and effort being made to raise awareness – and create action on climate change – and it gives us hope.
Congratulations – ClimateStories – Emma and Will – safe travels!
