Emma Grady hails from the coastal town of Kennebunk, Maine where she
grew up on twelve acres of land. Her childhood was filled with playing
in tree houses, sailing on the Atlantic, and good ol’ recycling,
composting, and line-drying clothes. Upon graduating from the
University of Vermont in May of 2008 she interned with Meaghan O’Neill
the Editor in Chief at Planet Green and TreeHugger and came on board
as a contributing writer when she moved to New York City in Fall 2008.
Emma’s passion is promoting the good works of others; from to
non-profits to innovators — she has interviewed Robert F. Kennedy
Jr., Summer Rayne Oakes, and other environmental leaders. Emma hopes
to inspire interest in the green movement — by covering events,
eco-celebrities, fashion, and beauty — to show that green can be
glamorous. Most recently she covered green fashion at New York Fashion
Week and interviewed international fashion icon Miguel Adrover, model
and environmental activist Summer Rayne Oakes, and the CEO of Tiffany
& Co. See below.
